Episode 17「 Miscalculation 」 IT'S FINALLY OUT! Note from Timing/TS anon: Q: Why did this take 4 days to release? Are you retarded? A: Yes. I wasn't sure if TL wanted to keep going given it's simulcast now, sort of, and also wasn't sure if it even was simulcast at all or a split cour dump. I bumped into him a day late, having already made plans on Sunday, and was furthermore resolved to have a real go at typesetting fully to keep the fansub worth it, compared to the official subs, but had so little time doing it little by little after work each day instead of the weekend that I "finished" extremely late. Also my internet was out for a day and couldn't upload yesterday lmao. Basically every possible thing fucked up on my end. Examples of extra timewasting bullshit: - Almost all JP text masked with redrawn gradients, including the frames were characters move in front of them and it pans and stuff. I gave out and commented out the blank on 18:45 due to the high gradient and tile moving over it, and couple at the end, seeing as it's Wednesday already to actually release sometime this week, but will put them back after the series ends. - Added a bunch of in-text effects in the OP and karaoke style to the ED. Are they any good? - Position of subs moving out of the way of important things now eases in and out (with fancy cubic hermite spline calcs) like Flash instead of jittering around with the built-in libass linear move function. - The part of the OP that moves is properly motion tracked in Mocha and not 5 keyframes linearly. - Non default Arial font finally. The billboard font's a bit shit, but I couldn't find a better one in the time. Not sure if I attached them to the mkv properly (did it work?), and realized I TS-ed to the wrong font (misspelled it and was using a fallback, fug) and had to fix a a bunch of spacing and stuff last minute. Fuck me. - Put the elephant back in :^) (this is less bragging and more justifying to TL anon why I took forever) Q: Will the sub continue A: We're committed to this again going forward. TL is in too. I have to admit I am getting pretty "where did all my weekends go" with some IRL stuff in the background to work around, but this show ain't too hard. If nothing comes out by Monday, we fucked up and ran out of time, which shouldn't happen again. This show airs really early and there's a whole weekend to get it done. This episode was a real outlier. Q: Where's Episode 16? T: We were so slow that it was already translated, and the TL for that episode is actually pretty good, so we skipped it to focus on Episode 17. I'll do a Timing/TS only release with their subs as [anon?] to be able to present a full series with one group (plus [Yofukashi]) way down the line.
