## [This does NOT contain the English dub which is still lost. The included languages are Swedish, Portuguese (Portugal), and Russian, SUBTITLED in English.]
I present: Urikupen Rescue Team / Jungle Tales, the nearly complete series (21 out of 22 episodes), the anime that basically only still exists because Saban bought it.
So historically this show was made in 1974 as a dumb, probably cheaply made frozen food sponsor show or something like that, if kids guessed who won the medal that week they got a play tool bag, then it was forgotten (didn't even get any home media, just merchandise) until the early 90s when Saban bought it with all the other shit they dubbed. They were only able to make roughly 16 minute cartoons with the original footage so every episode is padded with a 3 minute recap song, and an opening theme that's 30 seconds longer than their usual 1 minute.
The US didn't want it but it aired in Canada and other places overseas, and in some countries there were people who actually liked it enough to record the show, and the first 9 episodes got VHS releases in a few languages (all straight to video dubs however, with varying quality), hence why it only survives through the Saban dub.
Therefore, everything here is VHS and varies in quality, because it's what exists. The only further upgrade available is the raw u-matic broadcast masters of the English version that the Library of Congress has.
Also, I wanted to bring this all together because it's all over the damn place, and nobody else was bothering to touch it or think of subbing it back into English. Typical, for something so obscure.
The first 9 episodes come from my own rips of the retail Swedish volumes split apart per episode, while episode 8 was slightly recorded over by the original owner so has a small narration gap filled with the Norwegian tape.
Episodes 10-14 + 16-19 (Portuguese) come from aurathomas on GoldTugAnime, and the volume of episode 12 was raised to compensate for being stupidly low.
Episodes 20-22 (Russian) are from M-KV2501 on rutracker. These have MBAFF interlacing and I didn't wanna screw with it.
Episode 15 (Mice on Ice) is currently missing.
Multiple of these episodes availability overlap with other dubs but I didn't want to sync the audio because I would prefer to use the English version to fill in the missing gaps later down the line and so it would be synced to the original masters.
And speaking of the English version I'm still working on trying to obtain it but it's stalled right now.
